The Chicken Chain Critics Love to Hate Has a Huge Presence In CT
Connecticut Has Over 200 Locations of America’s Worst-Rated Chicken Chain
KFC, one of the most iconic fried chicken chains in the world, was recently named the worst chicken chain in America by Eat This, Not That. Despite its global popularity, the chain has faced growing criticism for inconsistent quality, declining sales, and customer service issues.

The restaurant has struggled in recent quarters, with U.S. sales down 5% in the third quarter according to Food Republic and Reuters. Diners have expressed frustration over issues ranging from cold or poorly cooked chicken to long waits and unhelpful staff.
One reviewer from Highland, California, told Yelp: “Save your time and find another KFC…multiple times I’ve been served food that was not up to par with KFC standards…Need to be closed down TBH.” Another in San Bernardino complained about old chicken being knowingly served, adding, “The Manager don’t GAF…KFC fell off.”
Despite the criticism, KFC still maintains a loyal following for its classic Original Recipe chicken and remains a go-to for large family orders, even if diners grumble about the price.

And if you live in Connecticut, the reality hits even harder: the state is home to over 200 KFC locations, meaning there’s plenty of opportunity to experience—or, depending on your perspective, endure—the chain’s famously inconsistent chicken.
Eat This, Not That ranked KFC dead last out of seven major fried chicken chains, ahead of competitors like Popeyes, Church’s Chicken, and Raising Cane’s, while Chick-fil-A took the top spot.
Look, I love chicken—especially dead, fried chicken—but I don’t get the whole “chicken wars.” KFC is solid, and honestly, it feels like this is just haters hating and skaters skating.
People try something new—or, in this case, something new-ish like Chick-fil-A—and forget who raised them and where they came from. Come on, the Colonel raised you, dummy—show a little respect.
