Bigfoot in Connecticut?

Hold onto your headlamps, Connecticut — according to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, we might have our very own Sasquatch roaming the woods near Seymour and Oxford. BFRO Report #77999, filed by James R. on December 8, 2024, details a late-night encounter along Holbrook Road.

James was driving south around 11:37 PM when he spotted a tall, lanky, NBA-player-sized silhouette step off the road and vanish into the trees. He says it wasn’t human, and honestly, it sounds like he might be right.

BFRO investigator Elise Bischoff followed up, measuring the figure at over seven feet tall using a human stand-in. James described chills, a sense of being watched, and a figure so proportional and slender that even the darkest night couldn’t hide it. Nearby hikers reportedly saw something similar on a ridge, “like a big man wearing camo,” before it bolted.

The area isn’t exactly barren either. Between Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary, Naugatuck State Forest, and Kettletown State Park, there’s over 1,000 acres of protected, forested land with streams, deer, and plenty of cover. BFRO notes that this stretch has a history of Sasquatch sightings, especially along the Housatonic River corridor.

I’m hearing more and more from the ladies about their preferences for larger, hairier men. Honestly, it feels like “big and hairy” has made a serious comeback in 2025. I mean, let’s face it — there’s someone out there for everyone… or, in this case, something.

So yeah, ladies. Next time you’re cruising Holbrook Road, keep your eyes peeled… your next failed relationship might be lurking out there, eating whole chickens and scratching its back with a Volkswagen.
