New ShopRite in Danbury to Host Job Fair for 200 Workers
According to a press release from PR Underground, people looking for work in the Danbury area will have an opportunity to apply for jobs at the city’s newest ShopRite later this month.

Cingari Family Markets is getting ready to open a new ShopRite at 72 Newtown Road, with the supermarket currently expected to begin operating in November. Before that happens, the company is holding a hiring event on September 25 and 26.
The job fair will run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at the Newtown Road location. Applicants will be able to talk with members of the company’s hiring team and interview for available positions.
The company says it needs approximately 200 employees to staff the new Danbury store, with both full-time and part-time positions available. The openings cover a pretty wide range of supermarket jobs, including work in the grocery, produce, bakery, deli, seafood, meat and prepared-food departments. There will also be opportunities for cashiers, customer service workers, maintenance employees and overnight stockers.
You don't necessarily need years of supermarket experience to apply. According to the company, people who have never worked in a grocery store before are also encouraged to attend the hiring event.
Cingari Family Markets is a Connecticut-based, family-owned company headquartered in Stamford. The business dates back to 1929 and currently operates 10 ShopRite supermarkets and two Grade A Markets in Connecticut.
The Danbury store will bring the company’s ShopRite total in Connecticut to 11. The company says more information about the official grand opening will be released closer to the store’s November opening.
So, if you've been thinking about finding a new job, switching jobs, or picking up some part-time work, September 25 and 26 are the dates to circle. The hiring event will be held at the future ShopRite location on Newtown Road from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
