According to lohud.com an overturned car had traffic backed up for 8 miles at one point.

We were getting phone calls from Ethan and Lou listeners this morning saying that there were 5 wrecks at one point. Then a Westchester Police officer called us to have us relay the message that traffic will be a mess for about 45 minutes to an hour. That was right around 7:45 in the morning. The accident happened right where you would expect. Right at exit 5 which was obviously designed by a blind man.

Good ole' 684. I used to commute to Westchester Community College in rush hour traffic. I would take 684 to the Saw Mill and if 684 was in bad shape my day was ruined. Then if I was lucky enough to have smooth sailing on 684 I had the joys of trying not to die on the Saw Mill doing 80 miles per hour with no shoulder on either side. Then a nice slam on the brakes at Readers Digest road really was the icing on the cake.

Commuting is no fun. May dad commuted to Manhattan for about 25 years and we would always pay close attention to traffic reports on the radio in the car. We knew that if 684 North was backed up dad was coming home in a very bad mood. Those days we would not even talk to him until he finished his 40 minute screaming, swearing rant. So to all of you who braved the traffic this morning we salute you and hopefully everyone who was involved in a wreck is OK.
