This past week a New Milford nurse got a huge surprise being featured as Jimmy Kimmel’s #HealthCareHero of the week of his late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! As if that wasn’t enough, she got to speak with her biggest crush, Adam Levine.

Samantha Brown is a mother of two and a wellness nurse from New Milford, CT. She works at Maplewood at Newton, an assisted living facility in northern Fairfield County.

Brown explains her working experience to Kimmel:

“We're a big family. What really keeps us going is we're a great team all my coworkers, superiors...we're in it together, we always have eachother's backs...We really love these residents and these residents are our families."

The show chose Brown to be a part of their segment through Adobe’s #HonorHeroes program. This program allows creators to submit their designs for heroes who are helping the community. Brown’s sister, Sandra Ristau, submitted her portrait to Adobe.

After speaking with the pair, Brown was surprised yet again! Jimmy Kimmel revealed that she would be receiving $10,000 from Adobe as part of their giving back program. This generosity continued with gift certificates for all of her co-workers at Maplewood to be used for food delivery.
