In this week's editions of SMH News:

Apparently in some places, Bingo is not a place to mess around. S**t gets serious.

According to NBC Connecticut, an 82-year-old man was arrested after a weekly game of bingo. Fred Smith of Lake Wales, Florida was allegedly caught on video slashing a woman’s car tires with an ice pick in the parking lot of the Lake Ashton Retirement Community Club House.

Police said Smith claimed that his actions were because the women was sitting in the chair he usually sits in. The 82-year-old has been ordered to pay $500 in tire damage to the women.

A 19-year-old Pennsylvania native, Logan Shaulis, was arrested on charges of drunk driving and impersonating a public servant after he allegedly set up a drunken driving checkpoint while pretending to be a state trooper.

Shaulis was also reportedly drunk at the time, NBC Connecticut reports.

When police arrived to the scene, Shaulis allegedly tried to hand over a BB gun while saying, “I can’t get caught with this.” His hearing is set for June 9.

According to the Daily Freeman, 31-year-old Darren Desruisseaux of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, was pulled at 5 AM for speeding on Interstate 86 in the village of Horseheads, near the Pennsylvania border and about 85 miles south of Rochester.

Since he was wanted for attempted homicide, Desruisseaux decided that pouring gasoline and setting himself on fire was a better option than being arrested.

The Daily Freeman reports that while police were checking his license, he locked himself in his car and lit himself on fire. Police were able to extinguish the fire and instead of evading arrest, Desruisseaux is now in a world of pain, and was under guard at the hospital as of Tuesday.
