Please John Mayer, Write a Good Song with ‘Connecticut’ in the Title
I know he doesn't live here anymore, but I have to ask: John Mayer, as our generations "Best musician from Connecticut', would you please write a good song with us in the title?
Name the first song that you can think of that has 'Connecticut' in the title, or even mentions our state. Give up? OK, what is the official song of Connecticut? As of 1978, the Official State Song of Connecticut is Yankee Doodle.
Is three anything relevant to Connecticut in 2025 in that song? Have you ever been called a Yankee if you are not wearing pinstripes or wearing the NY Yankee logo? New York has so many references, as does Massachusetts, heck, even Maine, but Connecticut? Billy Joel brought the house down at Mohegan Sun this past weekend with a great rendition of 'New York State of Mind', and it got me thinking that Connecticut doesn't have the anthems that our neighbors do.
