Which Connecticut Town Has the Least People?
What Connecticut Town Has the Fewest People?
Each year, I find myself relating less and less to my fellow man. I see no benefit in fighting this realization, so the logical next step feels like moving somewhere with fewer people.
When I was younger, we used to think angry old men were hilarious. Now I realize—they’re actually human warning signals for the end times. And while I may be ready to give up on people and retreat to the woods or countryside, I’m not quite ready to leave the Nutmeg State behind.

So, I began my search for a more peaceful reality the way anyone would: with a Google search—“Which town in Connecticut has the fewest people?” Not only did I find the answer, I uncovered a whole list of options.
Here are the 10 least populated towns in Connecticut according to CT Demographics:
10. Hampton - 1,741 residents
9. Eastford - 1,689 residents
8. Bridgewater - 1,646 residents
7. Norfolk - 1,596 residents
6. Scotland - 1,578 residents
5. Cornwall - 1,575 residents
4. Colebrook - 1,368 residents
3. Warren - 1,367 residents
2. Canaan - 1,082 residents
1. Union - 797 residents
Just to put this in perspective:
- Danbury High School has over 3,000 kids in each graduating class.
- Fyre Fest (1) had 5,000 attendees.
- As of 2019, Chernobyl (Yes, that Chernobyl) has 500 residents according to World Population Review

Now I’ve got to figure out what to do on Friday and Saturday nights in Union. I’ll probably just end up complaining to anyone who’ll listen that there’s ‘nothing to do around here.’
