According to Bro Bible, Jimmy John’s is rolling out their limited-edition Picklewich—where they swap out the bread for pickles. Yeah, you heard that right! They’ve got two versions: the Vito Picklewich and the Turkey Picklewich. And while I can totally see dedicated dill fans going bananas over this, I can’t help but think about how much better this concept could be if it came straight from a local deli here in Connecticut.

As much as I appreciate the creativity behind the Picklewich, I’d rather eat one in crafted by a family-run deli in the Nutmeg State. There’s just something special about biting into a sandwich that’s made with care and tradition, don’t you think?

Connecticut is home to some amazing delis, and I'm certain 90% of them can do this better than a chain. Imagine a sandwich with perfectly sliced, paired with fresh ingredients, all nestled between top-notch tangy pickles, oooh baby!. That’s the real deal! Sure,

Plus, supporting our community is key. While Jimmy John’s is a national chain trying to ride the viral wave, I’d much rather enjoy a pickle sandwich that’s made with local flair. Why not celebrate our CT delicacies instead of chasing after the latest gimmick?

So, while the Picklewich might grab headlines, let’s keep our hearts (and stomachs) local. When it comes to sandwiches, there’s no substitute for the flavor and love you find in your neighborhood deli!

UPDATE: My dreams may have just come true! I was talking about this with my colleague Dave who told me there is a place in Torrington that already does this. Dave said Jimmy's Store (Not Jimmy John's) has a pickle-bread sandwich on their menu! Let's go!!!

No offense to Jimmy's Store but that is a hike for me, I either need to them to move to Danbury or open a second location in the Hat City so I can start plowing these sandwiches down my gullet. Please and thank you!

UPDATE 2: Russel from New Milford texted the I-95 Morning Show and said:

"I just saw that there is a newer deli in Brookfield across from the mini golf that has pickle sandwiches."

After a couple minutes on the Google machine, it was confirmed that Dash N' Dine at 540 Federal Road has their own pickle sandwich. Things are looking up for Connecticut pickle fans like myself.
