Fugitive Arrested in Connecticut for Violent Assault – Full Story Revealed!
According to a press release from the CT State Police, a Rhode Island man has been arrested and charged following an assault at a Connecticut rest area. Ariel Dejesus Valdez, 28, from Providence, Rhode Island, was taken into custody on December 16, 2024, after being extradited from Rhode Island.
He faces several charges stemming from an incident at the North Fairfield Service Plaza on December 7, 2024.
Valdez allegedly assaulted a victim at the rest area before fleeing Connecticut. Authorities in Rhode Island apprehended him once an extraditable arrest warrant was approved. The charges against Valdez include risk of injury to a child, reckless endangerment (two counts), strangulation or suffocation in the second degree, criminal mischief, larceny, and breach of peace.
Following his extradition, Valdez was processed at Troop G in Bridgeport. Due to the nature of the charges, a $100,000 bond was set, which Valdez was unable to post. As a result, he remains in custody at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. Valdez was scheduled to appear for his arraignment at Bridgeport Superior Court on December 17, 2024.
