CT Lottery HQ Moves To Wallingford, Still No Word About App
We learned just a couple of months ago that The Connecticut Lottery would be moving their headquarters out of Rocky Hill right down I-91 to Wallingford. Why the move? The Rocky Hill building's lease was up. Yesterday, the Connecticut Lottery announced that the move is complete, and the new space in Wallingford is ready to start the high-ticket payouts.
According to CTLottery.org, the brand-new Connecticut Lottery Headquarters and Claim Center at 15 Sterling Drive in Wallingford will officially open for business this Friday, September 1, 2023. It will be open for business Monday to Friday from 8:30AM - 4:30PM. The CT Lottery claims rules haven't changed, if you have a winning ticket up to $599 and you want to claim it in person, you can still claim that at any CT lotto retailer. If you have a winning ticket up to $5,000, you must go to any CT Lottery High-Claim Center or CT Lottery HQ. Anything $5,000+ must be claimed at the new HQ. By mail? No problem, any winning ticket up to $49,999 may be claimed by mail.
The bigger question posed by most Connecticut Lottery fans in the comments of the announcement on social media is 'Where is the app?' Lots of people want the power to be able to scan our own winning tickets in the comfort of our own homes, or in our cars by the gas pump. iLottery system was announced earlier this summer as an upcoming app that would allow us to play Keno or purchase daily numbers online.
I just did a quick search in the App store of 'Connecticut Lottery', and nothing comes up. Just a bunch of knock-off lottery-scratcher games.
