
New Report Says Connecticut Is One of America’s Healthiest States
According to Star Insider, Americans are living longer than ever, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re living better. Where you live plays a big role in your overall health, and Forbes just dropped a breakdown of how all 50 states stack up.

They compared states across 21 different metrics — disease risk, lifestyle habits, substance abuse, and general health outlook — to see who’s actually doing the best.
The top healthiest states? No shock here:
1. Massachusetts
2. Minnesota
3. Connecticut
4. Utah
5. Hawaii
And yes, Connecticut cracked the Top 5.
Least healthy states:
5. Kentucky
4. Arkansas
3. Tennessee
2. Mississippi
1. West Virgina

The Constitution State ranked third overall and really stood out in the “disease risk factors and prevalence” category. Connecticut has the lowest diabetes (In Wilford Brimley voice) mortality rate in the entire country at 16.33 deaths per 100,000 people. It also posted the fourth-lowest chronic lower respiratory disease mortality rate (25.33 per 100,000) and the fourth-lowest stroke mortality rate (28.2 per 100,000).
So, if you’ve ever wondered whether living in Connecticut might actually be good for your health — the numbers are leaning pretty hard toward “yes.”
Let’s go ahead and call this reason 8,346,235 to stay put here in the Northeast. But hey, if being warm year-round means that much to you, go ahead and move to Florida. Just know you’ll be less healthy, probably miserable, and the worst part is you won’t even be able to admit it. You’d have to tell people you made a mistake — and most folks would rather suffer in silence than admit they were wrong.
