According to WTNH, Connecticut investigators uncovered a Google search that's raising a lot of eyebrows after a woman was charged with murder earlier this month.

Police say 27-year-old Cynthia Martinez is accused of killing a man back in March. While investigators haven't publicly released a motive, they believe the killing was planned rather than spontaneous.

Here's the part that sounds like something straight out of a true crime documentary.

According to investigators, Martinez allegedly searched the internet earlier that day asking, "Does God forgive murderers?"

I can't be the only one thinking that's about as giant of a red flag as you'll ever see in someone's search history.

Authorities haven't said what answer she found, but whatever popped up clearly wasn't enough to change what police say happened later that day.

It's another reminder that internet searches can become a major piece of evidence in criminal investigations. People tend to think of Google as a place to settle arguments, find recipes, or figure out why their check engine light is on. Prosecutors, on the other hand, sometimes end up using search histories to help establish timelines or intent in criminal cases.

Martinez was arrested earlier this month and is currently being held on a $1 million bond while the case works its way through the court system. She is scheduled to appear in court as the legal process continues.

As always, it's important to remember that criminal charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they're proven guilty in court.

Still, if the allegations are true, that Google search is one of those details that's hard to forget. Most people use Google to ask questions they don't want to ask another person. This, however, may go down as one of the most chilling searches investigators have ever come across.
