According to a release from the City of Danbury, another company is making a major investment in the city, and this one has a pretty interesting history.

Imperial Electronic Assembly, which was originally founded in Danbury back in 1988, is bringing its headquarters back to where it all started. The company plans to build a new 120,000-square-foot facility in the city as part of a project valued at more than $23 million.

The move is expected to create between 40 and 50 new jobs right away, with the possibility of adding another 50 positions as the business continues to grow. It's another example of Danbury attracting investment from companies looking to expand while creating new employment opportunities for local residents.

City officials credit Mayor Roberto Alves' economic development efforts, along with the work of Danbury's Economic and Community Development Office, for helping make projects like this happen. Their goal has been to make Danbury an attractive place for businesses to relocate, expand, and invest for the long haul.

Imperial Electronic Assembly may be returning to Danbury, but for me, this news comes with a funny personal connection.

For decades, I-95's studios in Brookfield sat right next door to Imperial Electronic Assembly. They were literally our neighbors for years. Earlier this year, we packed up and moved our studios to downtown Danbury. Now, just a few months later, Imperial is doing the same thing—leaving Brookfield behind and relocating to Danbury.

No, I'm not saying they followed us... but the timing is pretty hilarious.

It's wild to think that after spending decades as neighbors in Brookfield, we're about to share the same hometown again—just in a different city. Sometimes life has a funny way of coming full circle, and this is definitely one of those moments.
