Connecticut is one step closer to a ban on smoking and vaping at CT beaches.

According to a report on WFSB's website, the state Senate voted the bill through this past Wednesday. Next stop will be the House of Representatives. If House lawmakers vote it through, it will go into effect later this summer in time for the July 4th holiday weekend.

If the law passes and goes into effect, the smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigs, and vape products will be banned from Connecticut beaches. Take it from me, there is nothing like picking out that perfect patch of sand on the beach at Hammonasset State Park when all of a sudden you find a half a dozen cigarette butts up your butt.

If the bill becomes a law, the Dept. of Energy and Environmental will be posting signs along beaches at Connecticut state parks. A question is, "Will the state actually enforce the law"?
