Bartolo Colon turns 43-years-old in three weeks. As an early birthday gift to himself, he hit his first ever career home run. That makes "Big Sexy" the oldest player in baseball history to hit his first ever home run.

Take a look at the big fella taking James Shields deep.

I love the fact that it took him about a month to round the bases. You have to be really stubborn, or a liar, to say you are not a fan of Bartolo Colon. His teammates will all tell you that he is the best to have in the locker room. He's funny, he can laugh at himself, he's an old man in a young man's game performing well, and, now, he can rake.

It's a nice time to be a Mets fan. It's more than just the young-stud talent they have on their pitching staff. This team has a special quality to it. It has the feeling of one of those teams that will be forever remembered. They will, for sure, be remembered if they win it all this year. Top that off with a 133-year-old Dominican pitcher who can still go eight innings of two-hit ball and hit home runs. To say that I am jealous of the Mets fan right now, would be an understatement. Being a Yankees fan right now is just no fun. Good for you big guy!
