The Connecticut State Police - Troop L in Litchfield and Cspnews.org have just announced that a 33-year-old man from Winchester has been arrested following a reported road rage incident along Rt. 8 in Thomaston on Tuesday evening.

According to cspnews.org, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at approximately 6:46PM, Troopers from CSP Troop L in Litchfield responded to a reported road rage incident that occurred along Route 8 between Waterbury and Thomaston. According to the complainant, as they made their way from I-84 onto Rt. 8 in Waterbury, a red Chevy Silverado allegedly swerved into their lane, causing the complainant to swerve out of it's way. As the two vehicles continued to travel Northbound, the driver of the Chevy allegedly brake checked the complainant, and allegedly rolled down the passenger-side window of the Silverado, pointed a firearm in the direction of the complainant, and allegedly tried to force the complainant off the roadway.

After allegedly pointing a firearm at the complainant for a second time, the red Silverado exited Rt. 8 via the Exit 39 offramp. The complainant pulled over, and called 911 with the Silverado's plate.

Troopers discovered through their investigation that the red Silverado was registered to a residence in Torrington, and spoke to the homeowner, who identified Matthew Bielefield, age 33 of Winchester, as the primary operator of the Silverado. CSP and Winchester Police Officers located Bielefield and the Silverado at a residence in Winchester, and took him into custody. During the investigation, troopers seized a Byrna pepperball gun while on-scene.

Bielefield has been charged with Reckless Driving, Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Breach of Peace - 2nd Degree, and Threatening 1st Degree - Displaying a Firearm. Bielefield was released after posting a $50,000 cash/surety bond, and is scheduled to appear at Torrington Superior Court on 10/28/2024.

A Sneak Peek of the New Restaurant Coming to Morris - La Guera

I love it when a food truck operator does well enough to plant some roots and settle into a real sit-down restaurant. Morris has a beautiful food truck location in the Pasture at South Farms on Watertown Road, and directly across the street we spotted a new restaurant that will have their grand opening celebration during the first week of November 2024. Have a look at what's coming soon.
