First off, outside of military funerals there is rarely if ever any kind of music played at a funeral or burial.I know this because ushering people to the afterlife is one of my family business'. My uncle Chris is co-owner of Beecher Funeral home in Brewster, NY. I was 16 years old the first time I worked a service. My whole family has worked in the business.

If you believe Hollywood you might think that there is a sound system at each cemetery but that is not the case. Music is sometimes played at wakes or calling hours but again that is rare.

But let's pretend like Hollywood has it right. What song would you have played at your funeral?

Would it be "Dust in the Wind?"

Nah,that has probably been done to death...haha...you see what I did there?

I have thought about maybe "Dead Flowers" by the Rolling Stones

That also has been beaten like a dead horse.

What if you went a whole other way. Maybe something festive? Going hip-hop, specifically hip-hop that makes zero sense could be fun and convey your sense of humor. I might go with something like Positive K's "I gotta man."

Or 2 in a room's: "Wiggle it."

Whose to say? It's such a personal decision that needs to be taken into careful consideration. Think about it though. We want to know your answer by Thursday morning. Decide, leave your comment here or call the Ethan and Lou show Thursday morning between 5:30-10am at 203-775-9595.
