One Connecticut Town Was Just Named the Best Place to Live
According to MSN, if you’re trying to figure out the best place to live in every state, Connecticut’s winner is West Hartford. Honestly, that feels like a pretty solid pick.

When people talk about great places to live in Connecticut, West Hartford almost always ends up in the conversation. It has that rare combo a lot of towns chase but never quite pull off. You get classic New England charm, beautiful neighborhoods, strong schools, local businesses that people actually support, and enough restaurants and shopping to keep life interesting.
MSN highlighted West Hartford for its strong community feel, quality of life, and balance of historic character with modern conveniences. That checks out. The town has those tree-lined streets and well-kept homes that make you wonder if everyone there is somehow better at life than the rest of us. At the same time, it doesn’t feel stuck in the past.
The center of town is one of the biggest draws. Between Blue Back Square and nearby shopping and dining areas, there’s always something going on. You can grab dinner, hit a coffee shop, people-watch, pretend you’re going to buy something expensive, and head home feeling productive.
West Hartford also tends to attract people looking for convenience. You’re close to Hartford, major highways, and plenty of job opportunities, but you still get more of a suburban feel than city chaos. That’s a sweet spot for a lot of Connecticut residents.
Now, is it cheap? Absolutely not. If you’ve looked at housing prices in Connecticut lately, you already know nobody is handing out bargains. But if you can afford it, West Hartford offers the kind of lifestyle many people want.
As someone who loves Connecticut, I get this pick. There are a lot of great towns in the state, and everyone has their personal favorite, but West Hartford being named the best place to live here makes plenty of sense. It’s polished, active, attractive, and one of those towns people move to and then never seem to leave.
I just hate that they call it WE-HA.
