Just a few weeks ago, I wrote an article about a new Italian Restaurant that just opened up in Oakville called Vintage 471The new restaurant is located in the plaza where one of my old favorites, Tequilas, used to be on Main Street. Well, now another new place is going to be sprouting up in Watertown in the next couple of months.

The new management of Triple Play Sports Bar and Grill at 16 Straits Turnpike in Watertown took to their official Facebook page to announce a re-branding today.

16 Straits Taps and Tavern sounds pretty good, right? Obviously with sports being as scarce as they are at the moment, I know that national brands so closely associated with sports are regrouping and rethinking their marketing strategies right now too.

The location at 16 Straits Turnpike has been known as Triple Play for quite a few years now. My incredibly handsome, and very fertile, new director here at the radio station, Joseph Ech, reminded me that he spent many nights in that location when it was known as Sophie's.

The last time that I was in Triple Play was just after the B-52's concert at Waterbury's Municipal Stadium a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed their wings, and recently, I did have one of their specialty mac & cheeses. Hopefully, the new management will modernize up the menu as well as the interior. We'll see when 16 Straits opens up their doors, they estimate sometime in August.
