Two CT Cities Named as 'Best St. Patrick's Day Celebration 2024'

St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2024 falls on a Sunday this year, and the kegs and eggs will be flowing all over New England. According to a recent study, Connecticut has two of the best cities in all of the United States to celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2024.

WalletHub.com has just released Best Cities for St. Patrick's Day 2024, and if you've ever been to Boston to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, you know why WalletHub's data has named it as the number 1 destination in all of the US to celebrate. Connecticut's other big neighbors - New York City and Worcester, Mass, also landed in the Top 10. New York City was named the 6th Best US City for 2024, and Worcester at 7.

A Connecticut city did crack the Top 50 on WalletHub.com's list of the Best Cities for St. Patrick's Day Celebrations 2024, New Haven landed at #48. Hartford, you say? Danbury? Waterbury? Nope. The only other city in Connecticut that made the list was Bridgeport at #141. I know the best place in Connecticut for St. Patrick's Day 2024, it's in Wallingford at the Oakdale Theater - Hatebreed headlines the March Metal Matinee - an all-day fest that kicks off at noon.

How did WalletHub.com determine their list? They compiled data from 200 of the most populated cities in the US, and compared them across four key dimensions - St. Patrick's Day Traditions, Costs, Safety & Accessibility, and St. Patrick's Day weather forecasts. No surprise, Boston slayed across the board, winning the traditions category outright, which evened out their lower scores on safety and weather. Chicago, Illinois was named as the #2 city, and I was very surprised to see Savannah, Georgia named as the third best city for celebrating the green.
