These Are the Next Oakville Businesses I Need in Torrington
Oakville's Ordinary Joe's will be opening up their second location Ordinary Joe's North in Torrington in the near future. I can't wait, and I hope that this is the beginning stages of an Oakville/Watertown invasion of Torrington, here's who I need to come North next, please.
It's not that you can't get bar food and chicken wings up here, it's the quality, and O Joe's consistently sells killer wings. When you have a level of expectation from previous experience, getting inferior product is disappointing. Obviously, any restaurant can have a bad night, but when you can't even get a product in the first place, there's a problem.
God I wish Tony & Sons' Seafood would open T&Ss' North in Torrington. If I want fresh seafood in town, I'm limited to grocery stores. I love my Big Y and Market 32, but their selection of product is so limited. Soft Shell Crabs from Maryland? Lobster Pot Pie? Clam Pot Pie? Employees who know that fresh seafood is very easy to overcook? Tony & Sons' has them, in-season or everyday.
Another thing that Oakville has that Torrington doesn't is "The Giant Slice'. I've eaten every pizza in Connecticut, and three of my all time favorites are in the greater Waterbury area - Domenick's & Vinnie's, Spartan, and Martino's Pizzaria in Oakville. My wife misses the Giant Slices so much, and I loved ordering Ordinary Joe's wings along with our pizza. Please sir, come North with your friends to T-Town.
And since this is all just a fantasy, one man's wish to make Torrington his own perfect world, God I would love to resurrect Oakville's Tequila's Bar & Grill in Torrington. We almost always had the place to ourselves, maybe that's why it closed? But the food was always great, and I miss it.
