If there was ever a time when you should heed those tick warnings, it's now. The Connecticut Agriculture Experiment Station in New Haven released a report which found that of the more than 2,600 ticks tested this year, more than 40% have tested positive for Lyme Disease. That's 10% higher than it's been for the past 5 years.

We are in the midst of a peak activity for numphal stages of blacklegged "deer" ticks, Ixodes scapularis, that are often difficult to detect because of their small size and propensity to quickly attach and feed. Using tick repellants when hiking or camping and conducting tick checks remain the best ways to reduce the risk of contracting tick-borne diseases" -Dr. Theodore Andredis, Director, Connecticut Agriculural Experiment Station (CAES)

Gross!

Seriously, that's disgusting. I don't like bugs to begin with, but ticks are really blood sucking little jerks, and I'm sorry to say this but they can all just die.

Lyme Disease affects 329,000 people annually and can be quite debilitating causing major issues in joints and the nervous system.
