The department is thanking Joe and Sue Ann from Hummus Fit Brookfield for donating a collection of healthy, prepared meals to Ryan, the Danbury Police Department’s Public Safety Information Technology Manager. Ryan recently underwent surgery, and apparently having someone else take care of the cooking while you recover is just about the perfect kind of support.

Anyone who has ever had surgery knows that the recovery process can be a lot of things, but convenient usually isn't one of them. Even something as basic as figuring out what you're going to eat can become a hassle when you're trying to rest and get back on your feet. That's where a thoughtful gesture like this can make a pretty big difference.

The police department says the donation was especially appreciated because Joe and Sue Ann took the time to think about Ryan during his recovery. The department also pointed out that this isn't simply about a few meals. It's another example of local businesses supporting the people who work in Danbury’s public safety community.

That kind of community support is something the department clearly doesn't take for granted. Joe and Sue Ann could have simply gone about their day, but instead they found a way to help someone who was recovering and make things a little easier.

So, from the Danbury Police Department, it's a big thank-you to Hummus Fit Brookfield for looking out for Ryan and continuing to support the people who serve the Danbury community.

Sometimes it's the simple things—like a few good meals when you're not feeling your best—that can mean the most.
