You remember the guy who used to body-block obnoxious guests on the Jerry Springer Show?

That guy is Steve Wilkosand this past Sunday he survived a nasty car crash in the town of Darien. According to TMZ, Wilkos was reaching for his glasses when his car hit the curb and he lost control. Apparently the car hit several poles and a tree before it landed on its side.

Luckily, there were no other cars involved in the crash but Wilkos who was injured and had to be rushed by ambulance to Stamford Hospital. He has since been discharged but his car was totaled in the accident.

Wilkos, a former Marine and Chicago police officer served as the head of security for the Jerry Springer Show from '94 until '07 protecting unruly guests from hurting each other. The Steve Wilkos Show was born in late 2007 and is still on the air today appropriately titled, The Steve Wilkos Show.

The single vehicle accident is still under investigation. In a tragic coincidence, Steve's audio guy and passenger were both killed in a car accident on that same day in the same general area, West Ave. near Turnabout Lane.
