Danbury Police: Local Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting a Woman He Met Online
A Danbury man is being accused of sexual assault by a woman he met online.
According to a release from Lt. Carroccio of the Danbury Police Department, 31-year-old Danbury man was arrested after he turned himself in yesterday (January 22).
The Danbury PD's Special Victims Unit says that the warrant for the Danbury man's arrest was granted buy a Judge at Danbury Superior Court following a "thorough investigation" in to the adult female's claims. The female says she was assaulted by the man after the two had met online.
After turning himself in to the Danbury PD, he was charged with sexual assault in the second degree and released on a written promise to appear in court. His court date is set for January 29.
The man was found not guilty on all charges.
