Have you heard of the Savannah Bananas? You're not a fan of baseball?  This new 'break-the traditional rules' take on America's pastime has many fans in Connecticut, and the team has just announced that they're coming back here in 2026.

The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team that will celebrate 10 years in business in 2026, and they've really made an impact over the past few years. So much that this year the team played in 40 cities across the US, including games in NFL and MLB stadiums. Bristol's ESPN made them famous by broadcasting the games to a national audience, and when they come to play here it's been in Hartford.

When and Where is Banana Ball Coming Back to Connecticut?

The team has announced their upcoming 2026 schedule and an upcoming lottery draw for the hot tickets. Once again Hartford's Dunkin' Stadium, one of the best minor league ball parks in the country, will host Banana Ball on July 23,24,25, 2026 with the Party Animals taking on the Indianapolis Clowns. There is some fine print for the ticket lottery, you can only request one city of interest for each request, and there is no price listed, with no '2-4' ticket limit, and the ticket lottery closes on Halloween, October 31, 2025.

What can you expect? Dancing, fire, players on stilts, and on-field celebrations that would make Honus Wagner turn over in his grave. It's sports entertainment for those who enjoy light-hearted fun, and it's exploding in popularity. Good luck with the ticket lottery, Dunkin' Stadium has a capacity of 6,500+.

4 Connecticut Based Department Stores That Are No More

I certainly remember shopping at three of the stores on this list and it transports me back to my youth and that makes it a find memory. These 4 stores were not only wildly popular in their day but they had their national headquarters right here in the Nutmeg State.
