Will This Viral Dating Trend Catch on in Connecticut?
According to the NY Post, there’s a viral dating trend making the rounds that raises an important question: will this actually catch on in Connecticut? Because if there’s one thing we love here, it’s a good system. Especially one that promises fewer arguments and better odds of survival.

The trend is this: some men are secretly keeping notes on the women they’re dating. Not metaphorical notes. Literal notes. In their phones. Sometimes right there in the Notes app, hiding between grocery lists and WiFi passwords.
These aren’t creepy dossiers, either. They’re practical. Favorite snacks. Wine preferences. Coffee orders. Go-to fast food meals. Pizza toppings. Clothing sizes. Favorite stores. Flowers. Books they’re reading. Hobbies they’re currently obsessed with. Basically, all the stuff that gets casually mentioned once and then immediately vanishes into the void unless you write it down.

Apparently, this is most common with guys who are dating or in the early stages of a relationship, when you’re still trying to prove you’re paying attention and not just nodding politely. But it turns out plenty of men in long-term relationships are doing it too—updating their mental (or digital) files so they don’t miss the small but important stuff.
The logic is simple: paying attention matters. One guy summed it up perfectly by saying, “Of course we’re listening. Because if we’re not, someone else is.” Harsh, but fair.
Honestly? It’s not a bad idea. I fully support anything that helps people feel seen, heard, and occasionally surprised with the correct snack.
That said, if we’re really going to commit to note-taking, I’d like to see some focus on hormonal schedules. Because somehow, every month, I’m still caught completely off guard. Like… what am I, new here? You’d think if a tsunami hit your village at the exact same time every month, you’d build a wall. Or evacuate. Or at least grab a helmet. And yet, I’m always left standing flat-footed as an eighty-foot wave blasts me directly in the face.
Maybe that’s the next update to the Notes app.
