Like traffic isn't bad enough this time of year.

Well, if you travel on the Taconic State Parkway, get ready for lane closures this week.

Sometimes traveling from point A to point B can be a painful experience especially with all that summer traffic, couple that with construction delays, and your short trip can take forever.

Motorists are asked to be mindful of construction delay's happening this week on the Taconic Parkway in the Yorktown area.

According to patch.com, the state Department of Transportation will be closing some lanes on the Taconic State Parkway for construction on Thursday (July 20) and Friday (July 21). Lane closures will effect the southbound lanes of the Taconic between Underhill Avenue and the Croton Reservoir Bridge. The work will be done weather permitting.

These single lane closures will be taking place between 5 and 6 AM, and then again between 9:30 AM and 7 PM. Double lane closures will occur during the overnight hours between 7 PM and 5:30 AM, so I don't have to tell you to expect delays.

The New York State D.O.T. also reminds you to take caution when heading through this area, pay attention to all signs and flag people. Plus also remember that fines are doubled in work zone area's, and if you receive two or more speeding violations in these area's your license could also be suspended.
