John Fogerty Brings The Songs He Owns Again To Connecticut
I became aware of John Fogerty in the early 70's, Creedence Clearwater Revival owned rock radio then, and we're still paying those same songs in 2023. I didn't really know who he was until the 80's though, when Fogerty's Centerfield interrupted Duran Duran and Culture Club. That familiar voice from my youth was all over the airwaves again. If you've seen Fogerty's recent tv appearances and performances, oh man, does he still have that powerful voice. Good news, Fogerty is coming to Connecticut.
I've loved the recent news that Fogerty has re-assumed majority ownership of his catalog of classic songs. Fogerty lost those rights around the time that I became aware of him, 1974. 49 years later, he'll bring those classic songs to one of my favorite places in the whole wide world - Mohegan Sun.
John Fogerty is bringing his aptly named 'The Celebration Tour' to Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at 7:30PM. Tickets range from $39-99 bucks, and you can get them through Ticketmaster.com and at the Mohegan Sun box office. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 24 through Ticketmaster, and will be available Saturday the 25th at the box office.
Did you know that Fogerty was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown for 'Centerfield'? The songs that he now owns again are such incredible works of art: Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, Bad Moon Rising, Down on the Corner, Hey Tonight, Looking Out My Back Door, Travelin' Band, Midnight Special, Lodi, Green River, whew. You think you're going to know the words to every song too?
