Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned carnival complete with rides, games, and an extraordinary amount of sweet delicious junk food?

After a 5-day run this past week, the Danbury Volunteer Firemen's Association carnival will be up and running again from Thursday, April 26 from 6pm-10pm through Sunday, April 29. On Saturday, carnival hours are from 12 noon-10 pm and Sunday from Noon-5pm.

My 4-year-old grandson Bradley, sporting a new haircut, already talked his mom and dad into two visits this past week. His favorite ride is the Ferris wheel.

I told Bradley about how his Mimi (Mindy) always wanted to catch at least one carnival each summer so she and I could ride the Ferris wheel because she wanted to make-out with Papa when we got stuck at the top. He started to laugh and told me, "That's so silly Papa!" Not only is it silly, but terrifying, because I'm not a big fan of heights! Mindy has just informed me we will be going to the carnival, and we will be riding the Ferris Wheel.

The carnival is located off International Drive in the Best Buy parking lot, next to Lowe's. The weather may even cooperate. The forecast is for partly sunny skies with highs in the low 60s from Thursday through Sunday.
