A Brontosaurus-Shaped Corn Maze is Growing in Connecticut
Yale's Peabody Museum, located in New Haven, is having a hell of a year. Connecticut's most incredible natural history museum just reopened this year after a multi-year, multi-million-dollar makeover to rave reviews. What's next? They've just announced they're teaming up with a local farm to build a Brontosaurus-shaped corn maze, cue the excited little boys.
Yale Peabody Museum announced on their social media that the museum has partnered up with one of the best farmer's markets in all of Connecticut - Guilford's Bishop's Orchards Farm Market. As of Saturday, August 31, 2024, you can enjoy a brontosaurus-shaped corn maze, 'with prehistoric puzzles and other surprises inspired by all there is to see and do at the Peabody.' I'm assuming that one of those surprises is going to be a pack of Velociraptors stalking you as you make your way through the rows. If you didn't know, the author of 'Jurassic Park' Michael Crichton was actually inspired to write the novel after visiting the Peabody in 1993.
The brontosaurus-shaped corn maze will rise up out of the earth at Bishop Orchard's Main orchard located at 480 New England Road, where the kids can also pick apples, take a wagon ride, try to find the Great Pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, and more while the parents enjoy the food trucks.
The Peabody Museum will return to Bishop's for a special event on Saturday, September 14 - Dino-Day will happen from 10AM - 2PM with real dinosaur fossils and artifacts brought in for the kids to touch and explore. Bishop Orchard's Creamery will serve special dino-themed ice cream creations for the event too.
