Major Pharmacy Closes in Waterbury: Another Huge Loss For the Town Plot Neighborhood
Just when you think it couldn't get any worse for the Town Plot neighborhood of Waterbury, another one of their hidden gems has been marked for permanent closure. If you thought that the lines at CVS on West Main Street were bad before, just wait til December 8, 2023.

The Rite Aid at 277 Fairfield Avenue in Waterbury will permanently close as of Thursday, December 7, 2023 according to nbcconnecticut.com. The Waterbury Rite Aid isn't the only loss for Connecticut, one in Stamford and another in New Haven are domed. I loved shopping at the Fairfield Ave Rite Aid, it's location was it's undoing I'd say. Fairfield Ave is somewhat hidden, if you didn't live in Brooklyn, or Town Plot, nobody knew how to get there. Rarely does the phrase 'Rolling over in their graves' run through my brain, my parents and grandmother rolled over in theirs when the Town Plot IGA closed, and I think they did it again last night. The IGA and Rite Aid on Fairfield Ave were so small and convenient, it was our neighborhood gem.
