Woodbury Man Allegedly Clocked at 126 MPH on I-84 in Southington
For the second time in less than a week the Connecticut State Police have announced that they've stopped another vehicle traveling along I-84 through the straightaway known as Southington.

Just last Thursday (10-3-24), the Connecticut State Police announced the arrest of a man from Naugatuck that had allegedly been driving while intoxicated at 113MPH on I-84 in the area of Exit 32 - Queen Street. CSP identified the suspect as Avilo Carvahlo, 19, of Naugatuck, and charged him with reckless driving, and operating under the influence.
Early this morning (10-7-24), at 1:25am, a Connecticut State Police Trooper from Hartford's Troop H was conducting speed enforcement on I-84 Westbound in the area of Exit 32 in Southington. A black BMW was observed traveling at a high rate of speed, which the Trooper clocked with their department issued laser at 126MPH. Troopers were able to pull the vehicle over on the right shoulder and located a male driver with two passengers in the vehicle. The driver, identified as Agron Sadiku, 29, of Woodbury, allegedly told the Trooper that he thought he was doing 80MPH, that the BMW he was driving was a rental from West Hartford, and was on his way home.
Based on Sadiku's responses, and the potential risk Sadiku's passengers had faced, Sadiku was placed under arrest and transported to CSP - Troop H in Hartford. Sadiku has been charged with Reckless Endangerment - 2nd Degree, and Reckless Driving. Sadiku has been released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Britain Superior Court on 11-14-24.
