According to the Connecticut State Police, a routine overnight patrol on I-91 turned into something straight out of “Grand Theft Auto: Wethersfield Edition.”

Just after 1:40 a.m. on December 8th, a Trooper spotted a red Honda Civic pulled over on the shoulder near Exit 26 — partially in the travel lane, engine running, and a woman slumped over the wheel. Off to a completely normal start here.

As a precaution, Troopers reportedly tossed down stop sticks and walked up to check on her. When he reached the car, authorities say the driver was dazed, confused, and definitely not following instructions. Instead of putting the car in park and stepping out like she was told, she threw it in drive and took off, shredding the stop sticks on her way out. Classic escalation.

What followed was a high-speed tour of Wethersfield, Route 3, and Glastonbury — blowing through red lights, swerving into oncoming lanes, and hitting speeds up to 75 mph. Eventually, the pursuit had to be called off for safety, but that didn’t stop police from spreading out and tracking the car down.

A little while later, Glastonbury Police say they found the Civic again…and the driver hit a police cruiser and took off again. We've got a runner.

Finally, at around 3:07 a.m., Troopers got a call about the same car parked on UConn Avenue. This time the woman was asleep in the back seat. When they woke her up, she allegedly tried to scramble back into the driver’s seat, but Troopers moved faster and took her into custody without further chaos.

Inside the car, Troopers say they found numerous needles and multiple license plates. A quick records check confirmed the Honda Civic had been reported stolen out of Simsbury back on November 23rd.

The driver, identified as Seneca Quintton Ann Josey, 28, was taken to Troop H and hit with a laundry list of charges — thirteen in total — and held on a $250,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on December 9th. Wild morning. No one hurt, thankfully, but that’s one wild ride for a Monday at 3 a.m.
