Connecticut is a National Leader for Vaccinations
According to a brand-new WalletHub study, some states are way ahead of the pack when it comes to vaccinations. The ranking looks at everything from how many kids get their flu shots to how many older adults are covered for shingles. They even factored in things like whether people have health insurance and how many children are enrolled in immunization information systems.

The World Health Organization estimates vaccines prevent millions of deaths worldwide each year, but participation rates vary depending on where you live. That’s why WalletHub compared all 50 states plus D.C. across 16 key metrics, including:
- Flu vaccination rates in kids and adults
- Teenagers with up-to-date HPV and meningitis shots
- Adults with tetanus and shingles vaccines
- Children living in poverty completing the full 7-vaccine series
- Share of residents without health insurance
Here are the Top 10:
1. Massachusetts
2. New Hampshire
3. Washington
4. Connecticut
5. Rhode Island
6. Vermont
7. Maine
8. North Dakota
9. Wisconsin
10. Iowa
In 2025, vaccinations are one of those third-rail topics. Definitely not the kind of thing my show usually touches, but hey—sharing the results of a study can’t hurt, right? Well… of course it can. That’s just the world we live in now.

If you’re still reading this, congratulations—you’re an adult actually looking at information before taking shots at it. Most people saw the word “vaccine” and skipped straight to the Facebook comments to vomit their opinions.
By now, some of you have probably labeled me a Trumper, while others have me pegged as a snowflake. Whatever you’ve decided I am today, I’m just glad to be here taking the slings and arrows for daring to type the word “vaccine.” Stay healthy, whatever that happens to mean to you.
For the record, I haven’t taken a single vaccine in the past four years. Not out of some political or scientific stance—I’m just hoping to get sick so I can stay home for a few days and avoid the ongoing information civil war.
In the meantime, I’ve been sticking my face real close to the microwave when it’s running. I don’t look either way when I cross the street. I add a dash of Tide Pods to my coffee every morning (not as tasty as the commercials make it look). And yes, I always swim right after I eat.
