Third person? Sure, why not. By now, most of you have probably heard some chatter about the future of I-95. Once that “For Sale” sign went up on the lawn at 1004 Federal Road in Brookfield, the rumor mill kicked into overdrive. So, we decided it was time for the official announcement.

On Friday, September 5, I dropped an article with all the need-to-know details, but here’s the short version: after more than 40 years in Brookfield, we’ve sold the building and signed a lease to move into Downtown Danbury. Our new home will be 1 Ives Street, right on the Green, in the middle of the Hat City.

The news caught some people off guard, others are too busy living their lives to care (which, honestly, fair), and a few are still confused. Since we weren’t exactly rushing to spoon-feed the local papers a story, we could write ourselves, they went ahead and made their story about the incoming tenants.

And that means you missed the golden quotes "they" refused to source from the city presser. The City of Danbury actually asked for a statement for their press release on the move, and here’s what you missed:

Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves said:

“For i95, a premier regional radio station and local source for news, to choose downtown Danbury as their new home speaks to the momentum we’re building. This is more than a relocation; it’s a signal of confidence in our city’s revitalization and the future we are creating.”

And here’s mine:

“When it came time to decide where we were headed, it was truly a group call. The execs actually came to us at the station and asked for our input, which was pretty cool. Really, there were only two options that made sense: New Milford or Danbury. We looked into both until Roberto started bullying us. So now we’re in Danbury and honestly, it’s a beautiful thing. We can’t wait to connect with our neighbors in the Hat City, grow our footprint, and make some new friends. The lads are hyped, and the vibes are high.”

Tell me that’s not one of the best media quotes this city has ever seen. With a little practice, I might even reach "Steal the Show" levels.

The quote I sent wasn’t my top pick—I figured I’d ease into the newspaper quote game. This was the one that didn’t make the cut:

"Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on! Hold on! Her sister was a witch, right? And what was her sister? A princess, the Wicked Witch of the East bro! You're gonna look at me and tell me that I'm wrong? Am I wrong? She wore a crown, and she came down in a bubble dog! Grow up bro, grow up!"
