Unique Dumpling Restaurant Set to Expand to Connecticut
New restaurant openings are my favorite things.
You've been seeing headlines all year about different stores, restaurants and even massive chains that have had to close due to not making enough money. I feel like I've been seeing it this year more than any other (minus 2020) that different places have had to shut their doors. Being able to report a restaurant opening makes me happy.
As I was scrolling my feed yesterday, I saw the excitement about a unique restaurant that will be coming to Connecticut. Marketplace at Hamden will soon be home to a restaurant that has yet to step foot in Connecticut. The restaurant is called Ugly Dumpling and it seems to already have a lot of buzz.
According to their website, the goal for the Ugly Dumpling is to "go beyond its boundaries and cultivate a new gastronomic journey, with the most authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine blended with contemporary creativity and a little extra imagination." They use the slogan "from the bustling streets of Shanghai to your table."
Ugly Dumpling is unique in their own way offering an array of items and focusing on the soup dumpling. Their menu is extensive apps, soup dumplings, wontons, rice, noodles, greens and so much more. They wanted to be unique in a different way of ramen, and I think this is the perfect way to do so.
According to the Marketplace Hamden store directory, the Ugly Dumpling will be coming soon along with Panera. According to reports, it will be taking place of the old TGI Fridays. As of right now, there are 2 Ugly Dumpling locations in the U.S. both being in New Jersey.
I'm excited to see they decided to expand to Connecticut. The menu looks phenomenal and the food sounds like it's amazing. I can't wait to officially visit when it's open.
