We haven't heard about a parade of Champions through Hartford as of yet, but a rally has just been announced celebrating the National Champion UConn Huskies women's basketball team.

Just 24 hours after clinching their 12th National Championship in NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball, the UConn Huskies are in the air right now making their way back home. If you have this afternoon free, you can join them at their home court for a free event to celebrate their latest grand achievement.

The University of Connecticut has just announced on their social media that a Championship Rally will be held this afternoon (Monday, April 7, 2025) at 5PM inside Gampel Pavillion in Storrs. Tickets are free, and as of me typing this, there are silll some available. UConn students can claim theirs at UConnHuskies.com/students, while the general public can try to snag theirs ar UConnTickets.com. Gampel has a seating capacity of just over 10,000, so there may be a chance if you hurry.

My niece is a Senior at UConn, she was lucky enough to watch the game inside Gampel yesterday afternoon. She sent my brother a few short clips of the celebration just outside Gampel after the game was over, and compared to other championship winning cities, no cars were burned, and it seemed like no glass was shattered or streetlights broken following the game last night.

If you can't make it up to Storrs this afternoon but are still going to be up in the greater Hartford area plenty of folks will camp out along the I-84 overpasses between Manchester and Exit 68.
