When you have kids, you can go crazy before a snowstorm trying to figure out whether they’ll have a snow day or not. We now have a hack. Here’s what the kids are using, and for the most part, it’s right. It's the the Snow Day Calculator.

My daughter says the Snow Day Calculator website is pretty good at predicting school closings, delays, and cancellations, but it does have some flaws. The website’s analytics are not good as far as the after effects of a storm. For example, it doesn't take into account the icy roads the day after a storm that can lead to delays. But it’s fun to use, so it’s worth surfing in.

With the Snow Day Calculator you just enter your zip code and the type of school it is, and it will predict the chance of it being cancelled. As of right now, there's a 0% chance that school will cancelled in Danbury, Connecticut tomorrow.

I wouldn't swear by it, but I’d agree with today’s prediction. Even if it does make incorrect predictions, so do the weather people!
