My absolute favorite fall festival in all of Connecticut, for the past 8 years, is the Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds. The 2024 event is happening Saturday(9am-6pm), and Sunday(9am-5pm), October 12-13, Tickets are cash only, $10 for adults, and $1 for kids under 12. The promoters and organizers of this event have truly selected relevant vendors, and I've discovered something new, delicious, or exciting every single year. I'm really looking forward to a fried corn on the cob and pickles from Spacey Tracey, and I love buying locally grown heirloom garlic, beef jerky, and fresh produce. The Bethlehem Fairgrounds is the perfect venue for one of Connecticut's premier outdoor festivals, let's hope it doesn't rain.

The 2024 Harwinton Fair and Portland Fair are both taking place October 4-6, and the Wolcott Country Fair is happening October 9-11. I'll take one fried dough, 2 corn on the cobs, and 1 pulled pork sandwich please, 2024 has been a great year.

Lost in Time: Connecticut Residents Recall Their Favorite Closed Businesses

This week we read that the last full-sized K-Mart in America will be closing its doors for good. We used this as a jumping-off point to ask the I-95 Morning Show listeners what defunct stores and restaurants they miss the most. These are some of our favorite answers that came in from all over Connecticut and New York.

The First Bursts of Fall Colors Have Arrived in Litchfield County

Oh my sweet hoodie, the smell of crunchy, sun-withered leaves in the 52 degree air, and those vivid bursts of color that stun us every year. I love this time of year, and the first signs of it have just appeared in New Preston, Bantam, and Litchfield.
