Danbury Police were called to the area of Newtown Road and Old Newtown Road on September 10 after receiving a report of an altercation involving a knife. When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had suffered an injury to his arm.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and, according to police, is in stable condition. Thankfully, this does not appear to be a situation where someone was seriously hurt, but police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened and who was responsible.

The preliminary investigation indicates the incident may have begun as some sort of road rage-type confrontation. We have all seen how quickly things can escalate on the road, but obviously most arguments over traffic don't end with somebody allegedly pulling a knife.

Police say the person believed to be responsible was gone from the area before officers arrived. Detectives are now working to determine what led up to the confrontation and identify the individual involved.

There is currently no additional information being released about the suspect or exactly what sparked the dispute. Danbury Police say more information will be made public as the investigation develops.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could help detectives is asked to contact the Danbury Police Department at 203-797-4662.

You can also provide information anonymously by calling 203-790-8477. Another option is texting DANBURYPD followed by your message to 847411.

And here's the obvious lesson: whatever happened out there, getting angry behind the wheel is probably not worth turning a traffic argument into something that requires the police and a trip to the hospital.
