The Danbury Hat Tricks Sweep Weekend, Extend Win Streak to 8 Games
The Danbury Hat Tricks have won eight straight games after sweeping a home series with the Port Huron Prowlers on Thursday (12/16/21), Friday (12/17/21) and Saturday (12/18/21). The team is flying high heading into Christmas with a season record of 13-3-1 and 37 points on the year.
Friday's game was a tense one, coming down to a shootout with the Hat Tricks overcoming Port Huron with a final of 6-5. They were facing a three goal deficit at one point but the Tricks rallied, on the backs of Cory Anderson and Jonny Ruiz.
Head coach Dave Macisaac had this to say after Friday's win:
"We didn't play the way we wanted to for most of the game, but we found a way."
Saturday's game ended with a blowout final of 5-1 and another big night for Cory Anderson to push the win streak to eight games. The Hat Tricks lead the league in points but are in second place in the standings behind the Watertown Wolves based on points-percentage.
Their next game comes this Thursday (12/23/21), at home against the Delaware Thunder, a team that has yet to win a game. After that, Danbury heads out on a five game road trip. Although the Hat Tricks are playing great, there is still a long way to go. This is just about 1/4 of the way through their schedule with the season ending in April of 2022.
I think they are going to push through the long season, I think they are going to climb the mountain and end up victorious because they wear the name Danbury on their uniform, and Danbury is tough. When Danbury comes to town we stand on the throats of our opponents, we come to steal your women and precious metals. We leave opposing cities in ruins, soaked in blood and tears.
This is my dramatic movie style quote that I made up for the Danbury Hat Tricks to say in the locker room before their games:
"There is no tomorrow, only today and today we fight. Today we leave it all on the ice, one last time." - Lou Milano
Boom, did you feel that? I know I did. OK, sure it's extremely derivative but I was raised on sports movies like Rocky and I work in corporate America, when am I going to get to say that?
Whatever dramatic saying you want to use, it boils down to this, no one comes into Danbury and picks a fight without us chipping someone's tooth, because this is the D-Block b----.
Ask a friend about #SYB, I can't tell you about the movement here, it's too foul and makes no sense.
