The Mayor to-be has enjoyed the spoils of victory, the first few days, one of which was meeting with the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixeira.

Glover won the title at UFC 267 on Saturday (10/30/21), and Dean won the Mayoral Election Tuesday night (11/2./21) so it was natural for the two Danbury residents to share their victories together.

Someone arranged that meeting and we asked Dean about it when he joined the Ethan and Lou Show on Thursday (11/4/21). This is what Danbury's next Mayor had to say about it:

"Hey Lou, there's the perks of being Mayor already, right? I got to ride in the car with him and I had his belt in my hand. That thing is heavy, I have to tell you, it's probably fifty or sixty pounds, that belt is heavy.

But, the guy is the greatest guy, the nicest guy, I mean I wouldn't want to get in a fight with him but he's a really good guy.

The City of Danbury is so happy to have him as a resident of Danbury, he's been here awhile and he's an excellent representative of Danbury, and that belt, I have to tell you know, he's a really good guy."

It was not the only high-profile encounter the Esposito's had this week, Sharon Espsotio (Dean's lovely wife) took a selfie with CT Governor Ned Lamont on Election Day.

"I'll tell you, at one point I got a single digit number, that I was winning by five and I go oh my goodness, there is going to be a recount, we're going to have to go back, but in the end I walked upstairs with a sixty vote lead so I was very confident with that. Because I've been through a recount before and it doesn't usually go that far."

Dean also told us whether he wrote a concession speech for the evening, what he thinks of the job his opponent did and whether or not he partied after learning he'd won. Esposito VS. Alves: A Complete Breakdown of Danbury’s 2021 Mayoral Race

Voting in a local election is one the best ways to express your beliefs and immediately impact the world around you but how can you really know a candidate from a few quotes in the local newspaper? You can't.

The paper cannot give you a sense for the candidates personality nor can they show you how the person performs under pressure. A radio interview is a much more intimate thing and you can learn who your local candidates are on a deeper level.

In the weeks leading up to the 2021 Danbury Mayoral Election, we believe we have provided Hat City voters with an unbiased view of their options. Each Friday we brought Roberto Alves and Dean Esposito on the Ethan and Lou Show and asked them both the same questions.

Because the person who goes last, has the ability/advantage of answering to the first candidate, we would alternate the order every few weeks. We did not endorse either candidate, we simply gave an even portrait of the two men, their politics and their vision for Danbury.

This is a look back at the I-95 Election coverage for you to review the day before Election. Below you will be given an excerpt from each article we did with the candidates and a link that can redirect you to the full article. Most of the articles include full interviews we conducted with your candidates, Vote tomorrow, it matters.

13 Dead Giveaways That You're Not From the Danbury Area

There is no great way to do this without laying out the boundaries. For the purposes of getting eyeballs on it, I said "Danbury Area" but we all know that this extends beyond. This is an odd place, and we all have a lot in common that we don't talk about because it's pointless to.

So, this list is for Danbury, Brookfield, Bethel, Ridgefield, Newtown, New Milford, New Fairfield, Brewster, Mahopac, Carmel, Somers and I guess we will include North Salem but only if you promise not to get cute with me.

Being from the Greater Danbury Area means a lot of things and we can all identify them without having to ask too many questions or probe too deep. We can spot an outsider from a mile away. If you are attempting to blend, good luck and beware of the following.

These are 13 Dead Giveaways That You're Not From the Greater-Danbury Area.

Inside the Holding Cells and Grand Rooms of Danbury's Fairfield County Courthouse

One of Danbury's most significant buildings is the vacant courthouse on Main Street. I took a tour of it recently and captured images to share with you. This is a look at the judge's chambers, inside the holding cells and around the grand courtroom of the Fairfield County Courthouse.
