Professional Wrestler From Yorktown Scores Her First WWE Win
Amanda Saccomanno, a Yorktown High School graduate scored her first big win in the WWE on Monday night.
Her ring name is Mandy Rose, and she's a Yorktown High School graduate who majored in Speech Pathology at Iona College. She picked up her first win on RAW this past Monday night by getting the pin on Mickie James, according to the Putnam Daily Voice. She placed second on WWE Tough Enough back in 2015, and that same year, was offered a contract with the WWE.
Rose's family owns the popular Arthur Avenue Deli in Carmel.
What sparked her interest in professional wrestling? All through high school, Amanda Saccomanno was a physical fitness buff. After she graduated from college, she decided to go after a career in the fitness industry by sculpting her body through hours of weight training and intense exercise.
In 2014, she entered the World Bodybuilding Fitness and Fashion competition where she won first place. She also entered the Diva Bikini Pro World Championship and, again, took first place. For Saccomanno, it was time to look for a new challenge and that turned out to be professional wrestling where she's excelled ever since. Here's a look at her first victory in Monday Night RAW ring, when she scored the pin over Mickie James:
She's also made appearances on the E! Network via Total Divas. Check out her introduction to some members of the WWE women's division:
