Maybe the reason Connecticut won’t stop talking about pizza is because it’s the only thing here that hasn’t doubled in price since last year. And listen… CT does have elite pizza. New Haven alone could start international conflict over who makes the best slice. But while our leaders are busy polishing the “Pizza Capital” trophy, a different headline keeps popping up:

People Are Leaving. Again.

U-Haul just released its latest Growth Index and Connecticut landed 42nd in the country, with a -2% net migration rate. Translation: more people moved out in 2025 than moved in,and this is the third year in a row we’ve pulled off that trick.

So Where Are CT Residents Going?

According to U-Haul’s numbers, the top states Connecticut residents moved to were: New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Basically: same weather, same traffic… just a different set of headaches.

Which tells you something interesting: people still want Connecticut — but a lot of the folks already here are tapping out because the cost of living is doing what it does best… rising like bread dough.

Here's the Twist

Connecticut can call itself the Pizza Capital all it wants — and honestly, we’ve earned that brag. But if the “Welcome to CT” package keeps coming with taxes, rent, and a price tag that scares people into a U-Haul, then we’ve got bigger issues than sauce and mozzarella. Because at the end of the day, pizza is amazing… but it’s tough to enjoy it when you’re eating it in another state.

America’s Most Horrific Pizza Has 3 Locations In Connecticut

24/7 Wall Street conducted a study to uncover America's worst pizza. They scoured the internet for negative pizza reviews and compiled a list using the following method:

"consulted pizza reviews from five different food blogs and websites. Given the subjective nature of pizza preferences, we only included pizza chains that consistently ranked near the bottom across multiple sites."

After their investigation, it was revealed that the title of worst pizza in America belongs to three locations right here in Connecticut. Let's count down from 5 to 1 as we reveal the state's most disappointing pizzas and identify their locations.

Highest Nip Sales in Greater Danbury for 2025

Nips are one of Connecticut’s great divides—people either love them or hate them. Fans say they’re fun and harmless; critics say they’re trash, literally. The state’s Nickel-Per-Nip program was meant to clean things up by sending five cents from every sale back to local towns, but opinions are split on whether it’s working. According to Wine & Spirit Wholesalers of Connecticut, the stats below cover the April 1–Sept. 30, 2025 period for the Greater Danbury Area.
