Popular New Milford Restaurant Closes Its Doors
A popular New Milford restaurant has closed. Thompson's Fine American Comfort Food on Route 7 announced Thursday that they were shutting down. The restaurant specialized in Southern-style cooking, with authentic Cajun recipes as well.
In a post on the restaurant's Facebook page, owners David and Senka Thompson said,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Thompson’s Fine American Comfort Food will be closing its doors for the last time on Thursday April 5 .2018. We would like to express our extreme gratitude to our customers, staff, visiting performers and the entire community for the unwavering support you have provided to us throughout this entire journey. Your kindness has truly touched us to the core. We have not come to this decision lightly. Since leasing our current location, we have experienced many unforeseen challenges with the building and equipment. The financial and emotional tolls caused by these overwhelming set-backs have made it impossible for us to continue the business in its current form without putting a significant strain on our family. Again, we say “thank you” to all who have supported us.
I'm sad to hear this. Thompson's was a nice place, with a good staff and excellent food. They were also very supportive of live music, with both local artists and performers from NYC appearing regularly.
We wish the staff at Thompson's the best.
