Has your family dinner, nap, or general peace of mind been interrupted by a pushy door-to-door solicitor recently? One city in Connecticut has finally had enough.

I've read complaints about aggressive door to door solicitors in New Milford, Torrington, Waterbury, and many other towns on social media recently, but Norwalk has finally stepped up to the plate for those of us that do not want to answer the door after 5PM. Some of the commenters blamed Frontier Communications for their troubles, and it turns out they may be right.

The Norwalk, Connecticut Police Department have just announced that as of today, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, they've suspended the Solicitor permit issued to Limitless Management dba Frontier Communications for 120 days. The suspension comes as a result of multiple arrests of unlicensed solicitors, aggressive solicitors, and solicitors that continued to visit residences after dusk and on properties with visible "No Solicitors" signs posted.

In Norwalk, solicitation is only permitted by companies with a permit, with licensed employees that carry clearly visible identification. No solicitation is permitted after dusk or on property with No Trespass or No Solicitors signs.

It's not just Frontier Communications using door-to-door solicitors, aggressive solar panel solicitors, pest control service solicitors, and religious groups out recruiting for your soul or donations are being called out on Reddit every day. I think it's important to point out that most of these solicitors are working as third parties on a commission basis, hence the criminal offenses, but even so, kudos for your work Norwalk PD.

Considering the Possibilities for Waterbury's Rep-Am Building

Got $5 million and a dream? You could be the owner of one of Connecticut's most unique landmarks: A 240 foot brick clocktower and the building it rises from. The Waterbury Republican-American Building on Meadow Street will reportedly be reimagined into residential living spaces, but I thought of a few suggestions or possibilities for the potential new owner.
