New Study: CT and NY Drivers Are Some Of The Best in The Country
I know you're going to find this hard to believe, but a new study that was just released ranked drivers in all 50 states from best to worst, and (Are you ready for this?) both Connecticut and New York drivers did really well.
When you're driving on I-84 or 684 or any road in the area for that matter, you may think that you're sharing the road with some of the worst drivers in the country, but not according to a new study. Believe it or not, Connecticut and New York drivers ranked in the top five, according to the folks at smartasset.com. They conducted their second annual study of the worst drivers in the country and based their criteria on four metrics:
- The percentage of uninsured drivers
- DUIs per capita
- Fatal accidents per capita
- Google searches for things like "speeding ticket" or "traffic ticket."
Based on all of that, the worst drivers are pretty much all along the southern border of the country.
Here's a look at the Top 10 states with the "Worst Drivers":
- New Mexico
Here's the 10 states that scored the best in this study:
- New York
- New Hampshire
- Rhode Island
What a difference a year makes. Compared to last years study, both Connecticut and New York showed major improvement. Connecticut jumped up two notches this year from 6th last year, and New York drivers took a major leap up 14 spots from 19th last year to 5th this year.
So what does this study prove? Well look at it this way, next time you're complaining about how bad the drivers are around here, just imagine how bad they are in some of those states with the worst drivers.
