Concerns Over Safety Lead Morrissey To Cancel New England Shows
Bad news alert for New England fans of one of the icons of British jangle pop, the former lead singer of The Smiths has just cancelled his scheduled show in Connecticut for tonight, and tomorrow's show in Boston.
According to MSN.com, two Morrissey has cancelled tonight's 8:30PM show at the Premier Theater inside Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, and Saturday night's show scheduled at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. According to multiple reports a 'Credible Threat' was made on Morrissey's life, and 'Recent events in Ottowa' contributed to these cancellations.
What happened in Ottowa? According to yahoo.com a 26-year-old man from Ottowa was arrested this week after allegedly posting very direct online death threats against the legendary performer.
What Can You Do If You Have Tickets to Either Show?
According to the show listing on foxwoods.com all ticketholders for this evening's show at the Premier can have their tickets refunded at point of purchase, and the same goes for ticketholders for the show Saturday at MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

As far as I can recall The Smiths never played a show in Connecticut, I do remember NYC and Boston shows? Morrissey has performed at a few venues as a solo artist here, most recently at the casinos but a legendary show of his was at Waterbury's Palace Theater in October of 2012. I found a video from that show of his encore performance of 'Still Ill' on YouTube - 3B Productions.
